The Thorns of War - Update #0
Hello everyone and Happy New Year!
Since we are a couple of days into January now, I just wanted to give everyone an update on Thorns of War.
I've just launched the game's itch page and the demo is almost finished.
I'm hoping to get a full demo release out in the next week or so, but if anyone would like to get started early, I've posted an alpha demo on our new page.
It's approx 18,000 words long and contains Guillaume's two routes (one where you're in a loveless marriage and one where you are either in love or pretending to be), Leopold's route, Sofia's route, and the route where you're free and single. ^_^
As for play order, I wouldn't say that there is one particular route you should begin with, but in routes where you are closer to court you will know more of what has been happening in the political situation (at least, at the beginning) than if your character has been living outside of Segunda for the last two years.
There is no music yet (there won't be any music in the Beta demo either), no History function, and one of the backgrounds needs to be tweaked slightly, but other than that, I cannot see much else being amended in any major way.
Well, thanks for reading and here's to a successful and happy 2019!

Waah, so cool! I'll wait for the proper demo but I'm so excited to play!
I have one little question about the game though. In the first one, you had to play all the routes to unlock the last one. Is there something like that here too? I'd rather be able to play any route from the start, especially since I don't want to bother with a loveless route and I'd also gladly skip the routes of the characters I did only to unlock the last one in the other game. I may not do the game at 100% if I can skip on some routes, but I'll enjoy it 100% more XD
Ah, I'm glad you're looking forward to it.
As for the game, no, there are no locked routes this time so you can just play the routes you want to play and ignore the ones you don't.
I played the demo and enjoyed it! I like that it provides a sequel to the original routes but also provides new character romance routes to discover as well. Leopold's demo was my favorite so far (but he was also my favorite route in the first game). When are you aiming to release The Thorns of War?
Ah, I'm glad to hear you had fun, especially with Leopold's route.
As for the full release, well, it will definitely have to be after 'Heaven's Grave' is released because the money I hope to earn from that game will be the budget I use to finish this one.
Once 'Heaven's' is released, I can start planning the full routes in 'Thorns' in more detail and commission the CGs from the artist (and possibly commission some music, too. )
Thanks for playing ^_^
I am SO EXCITED, omg, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Fantastic start of the New Year :D THANKS!!! Waiting for the full game <3
LADIES, ASSUME YOUR FAINTING POSITIONS!!! 2019 off to a great start already <3 That image is amazing btw hahaha, saved.
lol, I'll be sure to put some fainting options in this game, too, just for old times' sake.
I'm glad you like the image - I really love our artist's 'promo' sketches . Ayachin is so talented ^_^
I HAVE DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN THANK YOU SO MUCH. This year will be a great year T_T <3 LEOPOLD ROUTE HELL YES
I had no idea how much I’ve been waiting for this until I got the email notification for the update......... omg I need to get home and play the demo LMAO
Btw, do you already have an ETA for it being released on Steam?
Ah, well, I hope it lives up to your expectations ^_^
Hmm, that's quite a way off, but I would guess at a couple of months after the release date of the full game on itch.
I love the demo, I love Leo and I CAN'T WAIT TO GET DOWN TO BUSINESS WITH OUR COUP BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I'M HERE FOR!!!!!
Seriously now, congrats on another amazing game, I can't wait for the full release!
So Soufle is not a fan of Frederique?
