Hello all

It's been a while since we had an official update, so here is where we currently are with Thorns.

Frederique's route is currently on hold (I wasn't happy with the route, but could not put my finger on why) and I moved my attention over to the Loveless route to give myself a break.

The Loveless route is where you just behaved 'like a Princess' in the previous game, and got the King to pick you to marry his son without Guillaume's approval, and I think it is an interesting premise that isn't explored in other routes.

In its initial conception, the Loveless route was going to be part of Guillaume’s route. But I decided it was going to be too different to include as just another flavour of Guillaume’s original story, so I split it out into a separate route.

At first, Guillaume was going to be the only romance option – it was supposed to be another iteration of his route, after all. But after writing began, I decided to add another potential romance to the route, to give players some choice - and then I added two more for a total of four.

These added romances started out as pared back versions of the usual relationships – close to the extra potential romance in Sofia’s route – but as they grew more in-depth, I decided to merge this route with the Single route, so I could give all the additional romances the proper attention they deserve. (No prizes for guessing who two of the potential romances are ^_^)

I've been working on it for a while now and the word count is just past 127,000 words and growing – I suspect it will be a long one.
